  • We too are at large, 5 person board rotating 2/2/1. We then determine the two seats during our reorganization meeting amongst the board members. One reason I feel this is helpful is, when someone starts their first year they aren't always ready for the Pre or VP position - still learning the ropes etc. We feel it should be up to the members of the board how the leadership runs but up to the public on who is on the board.
  • All of our seats are at large. We have a nine number board so we always have three seats up every year.
I agree that if you were running for a seat it could bring in a level and nastiness.
  • Seems like politicking could increase if BOE candidates run by seat.
  • All of our seats are "at large." No one runs for a specific seat. We use this approach because it avoids the potential "ugliness" of people negatively campaigning against a particular incumbent or person.
