Williamsville CSD organizes two community forums annually. The Fall forum takes place on a Saturday morning at one of our schools, while the Spring forum occurs immediately after our Budget work session. Participation levels vary, but we usually have enough attendees to conduct the event for 1.5 to 2.5 hours. This is an in-person event only, as a hybrid format attempted in the past proved challenging to manage. According to our email, “This townhall style meeting will give students, parents, residents, and staff members a chance to talk about any education-related issue they wish. There is no agenda or set topic. School Board members and the Superintendent will be on hand to listen, answer questions, and discuss the latest topics impacting Williamsville schools and public education."
In recent years, we have also introduced a virtual Speakers Series that parents can attend "live" or watch the recording. Last year, we held four sessions on curriculum topics: the Arts, Math & Computer Science, Literacy, and STEAM. This year, we are focusing the series on NYSED's Portrait of a Graduate initiative.
