Greetings BOF:
Our board has used the Google suite for many years. I don't think we have had any particular problems using Google, but I'm curious about BoardDocs. Could anyone share pluses or minuses surrounding the transition to, and use of BoardDocs?
Much thanks!

I could give you lots of reasons why to evaluate but I assume you are doing that from your questions. BoardDocs worked better for us than paper or a Google doc because of the visual comparing answers among board members or the board and the superintendent. It easily compiles information and allows us to see where we align and where we have very different perspectives. As there is no human interpretation, I feel like we get a great view of the data. It is also allows mid-year review and goal tracking. Plus, if you are doing the superintendent review, information and documents can be added throughout the year to make the process so much easier. What had felt like a monumental chore so just so easy.
We have used BoardDocs for probably 8 years now. Prior to that it was DropBox and Google. IMHO, BoardDocs is the greatest thing since chocolate chip cookies! The training was easy, hardly necessary for some and the platform is so easy to navigate for your public as well as governance team. I am sure you would get similar raves from our District Clerk who loads up all the docs.
As with anything there was a glitch or two with software over the years but our clerk received great support and the board was never aware of a moment where things weren’t 100%.
I was concerned about the transition when we decided to go with it, but really, it was seamless. I don’t even have a minus to share.
