Our Board has been using SuperEval for our Board self-eval for several years. In any given year, let's say 2023-24 Step 1 is the Board self-eval on the 5 performance standards (complete in June 2023 reflecting performance in 2022-23), Step 2 compiles the Board eval data on the 5 performance standards (again reflecting 2022-23), Step 3 Board identifies annual objectives for 2023-24, Step 4 Board monitors progress on objectives & determines results. So the end 2023-24 "summary" document contains self-eval data on the 5 performance standards from 2022-23 and progress on objectives from 2023-24.
In my view, the order should be Step 1 Board annual objectives, Step 2 Progress on objectives, Step 3 Board self-eval and Step 4 Board eval data, but SuperEval will not allow you to start with Step 3 until Steps 1 & 2 are complete.
Does anyone have a solution or work-around for this? Thanks in advance!

I have made the exact same argument with SuperEval, and even spoke with Bob Hartz about it. He seemed to understand what I was saying…the same argument that you are making, and said a future update should address the issue. I think you are right….the setting of goals should come first!
For our self evaluation this year, I created two Google surveys based on the NYSSBA paper Evaluation Guide. One survey was for the five performance standards, the other for our board goals. I’m happy to share if you are interested.
Until SuperEval gives boards the ability to set yearly goals first, I see little reason to use SE for our board self evaluation, and I LOVE SuperEval!
