Lets get local control on School Issues

For those that did not see the press conference on Friday, here is a link

We are grateful to Nassau County Legislator James D. Kennedy for hosting this press conference and allow us to demonstrate why we need to have local control regarding Covid issues such as the return of our kids to school, contract tracing, return to sports and spectator rules.

I along with board members from some other districts spoke at the press conference.

The plan now is for us to UNITE as school boards and demand control of these issues.

As individuals we are divided and have no power or influence. BUT as a united group, we can take control and force change.

Several of us on Long Island want to agree on policies and move forward.  For starters, it is beyond unreasonable for the State to impose a two spectator rule for outdoors sports.  We are considering taking action on this.

If you would like to be part of that movement, please email me and I will add you to the text chain.

  • Hey Kerry - after 14 years on the school board I’m used to it. If we were all united we would have a great impact on what Albany is doing. Unfortunately we stay divided.

Apathy will kill America and ignorance will bury it.
  • Disappointed that there are no replies to your post. Local control is essential for school boards to adequately formulate policy for the health and safety of their communities. We are not all in the same boat and need to have the authority to make needed changes for our community.
