Meetings/Meals

Just curious if your districts allow super or business official to expense dinner if they stay for committee meetings. Also for board meetings is dinner provided for super and their cabinet?

  • Only water is provided at our board and committee meetings.
  • No to both. We only get water at the meetings and nothing at committee meetings. School officials are provided with the same.
  • The district does allow for certain committee meetings to provide a meal when working thru the dinner hour, but mostly provided thru our own cafeteria. These are planned expenses based on the committee and time of meeting. On occasion our Superintendent or Assist. Superintendent will expense their own snacks or light meal when a meeting go long or is rescheduled. We do not provide any snacks or meals at our BOE meetings unless someone brings something in or we have a special occasion to celebrate together. We do provide bottled water.
  • Our supt or his cabinet are not permitted to expense meals when they stay for any meetings. We also do not provide meals at out Board meetings. We do provide cookies and fruit for Board members, supt., and his cabinet during the meeting.
  • We do not have meals with BOE meetings but the clerk does usually bring some kind of cookie. And we have water available. We expense meals up to a certain amount for overnight conferences, but not for committee meetings.
  • That’s a good question. I’ve never heard of our Super/cabinet expensing meals.
Meals are not provided at board meetings.
