Petition signing in the era of Covid

I was wondering if any boards allow digital signatures for the petition to be on the ballot as a board member.  It seems safer than going door to door with paper in this time but I'm not sure if it's been done or is even legal.  Anyone have insight to help me?

  • I believe full signature requirements are back in effect. Digital are not accepted. This is state law, not a local decision
  • Check with your districts attorney
  • Check with your District/BOE Clerk they should have the most recent rulings on the issue. (An update is actually on our agenda for our next meeting) If I remember correctly the Governor waived the signed (door to door) petition requirement last year.
