Recording of Board Meetings

Looking for guidance and experiences of the group regarding the recording (and posting/archiving of Board Meetings).  We currently stream our meetings live for the viewing public (as well as have in-person attendance), but do not save the recordings.

Some of the public has been asking to view the recordings because they missed the meeting.  Some have asked that portions - like public comment - be saved for public viewing.

Some of our neighboring Districts record and post to U-Tube; which doesnt help our current stance of not keeping the recordings.

Thoughts?

If you record and archive - have you had any bad experiences?

Thanks!

  • We live feed and archive and haven't had any bad experiences. We do continue to discuss the need to record though and haven't settled on anything there yet.
  • We live stream, record, archive and post our meetings.
  • We live stream our meetings using Facebook. This ensures the recording is always available to the public through our district Facebook page. When we had full virtual meetings we would record those and post those to our Facebook page as well.
  • Our meetings are recorded and posted to our district YouTube channel. I foresee us continuing even after the pandemic is a distant memory. Your district IT staff should be able to get a YouTube channel established.
