    We have an "Albany Fund for Education" that supports many things in the district as well as the Albany Booster Club that supports issues related to athletics.     We do over in Averill Park. It was here long before I arrived and is highly effective. From a board standpoint (and now as President). we have an interest in what they do, attend functions, etc. but keep our distance in terms of decision-making for ethical reasons.     We just started one. The board has not had much to do with its inception. We were kept updated about the progress of getting it started.

    We have a foundation. I'm not involved with it but our Super and a former board member are. Its an excellent toolbox to have for doing out of the ordinary purchases. Biggest selling point for us was, if someone gives you a bunch of money (i.e. a will), a foundation is a great place to put it.
