Superintendent farewell ideas

Hello Forum colleagues:

Our superintendent is retiring at the close of the school year.  He's been a wonderful school leader for eight years in our district, and for12 in a neighboring one, and we want to "give him his due" as he ends a 35 year career in education.

What ideas can you all offer to send off a superintendent who is retiring at the top of his game and with the respect of everyone and the admiration of our board?

    Our past superintendent had worked in the district for 7.5 years and resigned to accept position in another part of the state. We planned a surprise reception for him after a concert to increase attendance from families. We provided a cake and beverages and presented him with a glass jar full of heartfelt notes from students.
