Testing Mandate

Hi,

How is your district going to comply with the testing mandate that was dropped on us yesterday?  We did not test before, and we do not have the resources, people or money, to start testing now.

    We are working with our county on this now too. I want to be clear, I think this is an excellent idea I just object to the timing.

    As far as I can tell, our district is working with the county health department to develop a testing plan. We’ll only be doing testing for students whose parents consent and we’ll only test within the confines of the resources provided us by the county, is my understanding. Our area chief school officers have plans to meet with the local colleges to pick their brain on how to run the testing, as a couple of the colleges have been testing a lot since the beginning of last year.

    Totally agree. We haven’t even approached this yet. I’m disgusted as the governor paints the whole state like we are all NYC. With lawsuits already happening about these mandates this will put an undue hardship on the rest of us for costs, resources, logistics. To say nothing of the fact that this is really a collective bargaining item
