It was suggested to us to consider having two salary schedules. One for current employees and one for new employees.
Does anyone use two salary schedules and how is it working out?

The need for using two salary schedules is usually based upon the disparity and range of steps created decades ago and still part of most, if not all contracts.
With the 2% tax cap it becomes very difficult to mange and plan the budget when steps are not uniform.
A second salary schedule is just one idea.
I would love to hear other solutions to this issue.
